The UNH Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program is a NARHA Premier Accredited Operating Center. NARHA was founded in 1969 to promote and support therapeutic riding in the U.S. and Canada. More than 600 therapeutic riding centers in North America are members of NARHA. As a member of NARHA, our staff is educated to NAHRA standards and our instructors are certified. We are also insured to NARHA standards. In addition, UNH offers classes in Therapeutic Riding including ANSC643 which is Principles of Therapeutic Riding Instruction. In this class, students may choose to go for their NARHA Instructors Certification. We also offer a course in the Fall called Methods of Therapeutic Riding (ANSC500). These courses are part of our 4 year degree program but may also be taken as continuing ed classes. For more information on our degree program visit our equine program website. Our next NARHA onsite Registered Instructor Workshop and Certification clinic will be in April 2009. Dates TBD. You may find more information on NARHA by clicking the link below.
