Horses: It takes a very special horse to be selected to participate in our Therapeutic Riding Program. The horses used in the Therapeutic Riding Program have each gone through specialized training in order to prepare them for the special tasks of the program. We use horses that are part of the UNH Equine Program. The horses used in our current program are shown below. Millbrook Marcy. "Marcy" is a chestnut Morgan mare who stands 14.1 hands high. (A hand is equal to 4")
Shazaam is a 15 hand red dunn roan overo paint gelding. Shazaam was purchased with funds raised during our 2008 Silent Auction and dinner.
"Quill" is 15.2 hand chestnut Trakehener / Thoroughbred cross gelding who was born and raised at UNH.
Man of Action "Buddy" is a 14.2 hand bay Morgan gelding who was raised at UNH.
Starks Sassaflash "Flash" is a 14.3 hand bay Welsh cross gelding.
Prairie Hill "Paige" is a 15.1 h Chestnut Morgan mare.
Snowford Barna B "Snowy" is a 16 H Irish Draught Gelding.
Brighton Malibu Barbie "Brenna" is a 14.1 H Thoroughbred / Welsh cross bay mare
Sweet "Sable" is a 14.1 H chestnut Morgan mare. Sable was purchased with funds provided by Brian Gilmore and Theresa Gaffney at the 2008 Jumper Classic luncheon. There donation was made in Memory of Edmund F. & Betty L. Perkins, Braeside, Conway, Mass.
"Marquese" is a 15 H chestnut Morgan mare currently in training for our program.
"Cosmo" is a 15.2 h Black Quarter Horse gelding currently in training for our program and purchased with funds raised from the 2009 Jumper Classic luncheon.
